Job hunting skills are among those taught at the Pierce County Library system's computer classes.

Learn and improve computer skills with free Pierce County Library System classes

Pierce County residents interested interested in learning or improving their computer skills can sign up for free classes at their local Pierce County library.

Classes in computer basics include the Microsoft Office suite—Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and Word—as well as navigating the Internet and email. Job hunters will find résumé assistance and free library resources. Mobile device and e-reader owners can learn about using apps and free e-books and audiobooks, including Kindle.

The following classes are available at the following libraries:

Bonney Lake Pierce County Library (all classes are from 2 to 3:30 p.m.) -

• Email for Beginners, 2 to 3:30 p.m. May 2;

• Computers for Beginners, 2 to 3:30 p.m. May 16;

• Downloadables Drop-In, 2 to 3:30 p.m. May 23;

• Résumé 101, 2 to 3:30 p.m. June 5; and

• Job Search Resources, 2 to 3:30 p.m. June 19.

The Bonney Lake Pierce County Library is located at 18501 90th St. E.

 

Buckley Pierce County Library (all classes are from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) -

• Computers for Beginners, May 3;

• Navigating the Net, May 10;

• Email for Beginners, May 17;

• Word 2007 for Beginners, May 24;

• Drop-In Help, May 31;

• Computers for Beginners, June 7;

• Email for Beginners, June 14;

• Excel 2007 for Beginners, June 21; and

• Drop-In Help, June 28.

The Buckley Pierce County Library is located at 123 S. River Ave.

 

Sumner Pierce County Library -

• Excel 2007/2010 for Beginners, 5 to 6 p.m. May 1;

• E-Books and E-Readers, 5 to 6 p.m. May 15;

• Social Networking, 5 to 6 p.m. June 5;

• Job Search Resources, 5 to 6 p.m. June 19;

• Computación para Principiantes, 10:30 a.m. to noon May 3; and

• Computación para Principiantes, 10:30 a.m. to noon June 28.

The Sumner Pierce County Library is located at 1116 Fryar Ave.
