Sumner School District's free summer lunch program returns June 27

The Sumner School District's free sumner lunch program begins again on June 27 at Daffodil Valley and Liberty Ridge elementary schools.

The program is open to all children, 18 and younger, and provides a free meal even while school is out.

Lunch will be served from 11:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Daffodil Valley Elementary School cafeteria, 1509 Valley Ave, in Sumner, and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Liberty Ridge Elementary School cafeteria, 12202 209th Ave. Ct. E. in Bonney Lake.

The program runs from June 27 through Aug. 24. It will be closed July 4.

Application is not required.

Funding for the program comes through the federally funded National School Lunch Program, managed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
