This evening, Bonney Lake/Sumner Relay For Life opens its 2012 overnight walk-a-thon, bearing the theme The Magic of Relay.

Online registration is closed, but Bonney Lake High School on-site registration opens tomorrow at 4 p.m.

Bonney Lake is one of the American Cancer Society's selected locations for CPS-3, a long-term study to help researchers better identify the factors that cause or prevent cancer. There are 221 spots available, and enrollment will take place from 5 to 9 p.m.

MaryAnn Johnson is the Honorary Chair for the Relay. She is married to Neil Johnson, mayor of Bonney Lake and leukemia survivor.

The mayor will be volunteering at the "Be the Match" bone marrow registry tent from 7 to 9 p.m.
