Dozens of Bonney Lake residents joined members of the police and fire departments, as well as elected officials and city staff, out for the annual National Night Out Celebration on Aug. 7.

This year, the event began at Sky Island Park with an ice cream social before moving to Lake Debra Jane park for a barbecue and movie night.

Crafts were available at both sites, courtesy of Lowe's at Sky Island and Home Depot at Lake Debra Jane, and kids of all ages got a chance to meet Sparky, the East Pierce Fire and Rescue mascot as well as McGruff the crime dog.

Police and fire vehicles of all shapes and sizes were available for exploration, as was face painting from the Bonney Lake High School cheerleaders.
