Sumner’s Mystery Wine Walk returns from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday with another mystery to solve, plenty of stores open late and of course, wine.

Fifteen businesses in the downtown area are participating and Ascension Productions is putting on the mystery show which ties in with the theme of rhubarb.

Sumner Downtown Association President Jeremy Annillo, owner of Sorci’s Cafe and Enoteca, said the event is working to tie in Sumner’s claim to fame as the Rhubarb Pie Capital of the World.

The event features Northwest, European and Italian wines, with food paired appropriately.

“We’re providing European and Italian snacks,” Annillo said.

A raffle is part of the festivities and gives attendees a chance to win pie for a year.

“The person who wins that raffle drawing will actually win one rhubarb pie a month from Berryland,” Annillo said.

Annillo said people must hand in a passport book stamped by the businesses to be eligible.

“You have to get stamped by all the businesses as you walk throughout,” he said. The passport book is available at the registration booth along with wine glasses.

Registration for the $20 wine walk begins at 3 p.m. Saturday. Online registration is at a lower cost at www.sumnerdowntown.com.
