Police arrest shooting suspect at Federal Way motel

Bonney Lake detectives have taken into custody a 27-year-old Bonney Lake man involved in a Tuesday night shooting in the 5300 block of South Island Drive, Federal Way
According to a press release from the Bonney Lake Police Department, the suspect was apprehended at a motel in Federal Way without incident and booked into the Pierce County Jail on multiple felony domestic violence-related charges, felon in possession of a firearm and an unrelated felony warrant.
Acting on an anonymous tip, detectives responded to the East Wind Motel in Federal Way and located the suspect. The firearm used in the incident was not on his person.
Police also failed to locate the weapon at the home where the incident took place. A search warrant for the suspect's motel room is being obtained.
The incident began at approximately 7 p.m. Tuesday when police were called to the home for a report of a shot fired. Police confirmed with the wife that she was not struck, but discovered a hole in her car from a round that was fired as the woman attempted to leave the residence.
