SR 7 slope work detours travelers next week | WSDOT

May 6, 2012 · 7:56 PM

Crews begin operations to remove loose rock and material at 4 a.m. Monday, May 7, and are scheduled to complete the work and reopen SR 7 to traffic by 6 p.m. Friday, May 11.

During the closure, limited local access will be permitted, and a signed detour using Alder Cutoff Road will be in place. The approximately 1600 motorists who use this stretch of highway daily can expect this detour route to add anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes to their trips.

Following an April landslide in this vicinity, Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews cleared more than 300 cubic yards of debris from SR 7. The slide closed the highway for several hours.
