SR 161 speed limit reduction begins Monday

May 6, 2012 · 7:57 PM

Washington State Department of Transportation crews are scheduled to unveil new speed limit signs on Monday, May 7, on a 2.5-mile stretch between the Pierce County Fairgrounds and 176th Street.

Lowering the speed limit on this section of highway is more consistent with other speeds in the vicinity, and creates a 4-mile, 45 mph stretch of SR 161 between Graham and South Hill.
