For the first time in recent memory, the sun shined bright on Beautify Bonney Lake Sept. 15 and more than 675 volunteers took advantage of the weather to help spruce up their city.

This year's event was the biggest ever, with 22 planned sites around the city and others that were added at the last minute.

This year, Beauity Bonney Lake also marked the 20th anniversary of Ascent Park and volunteers, including several from the Fourth Battalion 160th, stationed at Joint Base Lewis McChord, raised a new sign at the future site of the city's Veteran's Memorial.

Following their work, volunteers were treated to the traditional pizza from Frankie's as well as free tacos from the Taco Time Traveler truck and pulled pork sandwiches from Dickey's Barbeque Pit.
