Monday fire in Prairie Ridge displaces family
December 3, 2012 · 4:49 PM
A family of four was displaced after an early morning fire Monday. Firefighters from East Pierce Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the 13100 block of Prairie Ridge Drive East just before 7:30 a.m.
The family was able to escape before firefighters arrived. However, the father was treated at the scene for breathing difficulties. He was not transported to the hospital.
Firefighters quickly doused the flames, containing the blaze primarily to a bedroom. “We got a good stop on it,” says East Pierce Deputy Fire Marshal Paul Brockwell. No determination has been made yet on the cause of the fire or the estimated cost of the damage.
The American Red Cross is assisting the family.
