Speeding Saturn crashes in Buckley after 20-mile police chase

The 27-year-old driver of a speeding Saturn crashed in Buckley Tuesday, at the end of a high-speed chase with Bonney Lake police. He was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for treatment of a minor injury sustained in the collision.

At 6:30 p.m., numerous citizens reported a white vehicle traveling 90 miles per hour in a 111th Street East residential neighborhood and, at one point, performing donut spins in the roadway.

Officers from Bonney Lake Police Department and two other agencies caught up with the car, and the driver led them on a 20-mile chase toward the city of Buckley. The driver maintained estimated 90 mile per hour speeds and ran traffic lights on the route.

The chase ended as the driver lost control negotiating a turn on state Route 162, near Orville Road East.

No officers were injured during the chase and subsequent arrest. The suspect's motivations were unknown as of this writing.
