East Pierce Fire and Rescue levy short of 60 percent | Primary Election Results

The first wave of primary election numbers were released Tuesday, Aug. 5 at about 8:15 p.m.

The East Pierce Fire and Rescue maintenance and operation levy had 55 percent yes to 45 percent but was short of 60 percent needed for passing.

In the hottest battle in the 31st Legislative District, incumbent Sen. Pam Roach, R-Auburn holds a slim 156 vote lead over Rep. Cathy Dahlquist, R-Enumclaw.

Both will now move forward to the general election Nov. 4.

Coming in third was Lynda Messner who is out of the race. In Washington's primary system in a race with three or more candidates, the top two move to the general election ballot regardless of party affiliation.

Dahlquist leads in King County 42 percent to 39 percent. In Pierce County Roach leads 40 percent to 37 percent.

Overall Roach has 7,147 votes and 40.09 percent and Dahlquist 6,991 and 39.22 percent.

In State House Position No. 1 Republican Drew Stokesbary led by 51 percent to 32 percent for Democrat Mike Sando. Both move to the general election ballot and Jonathon Dunn is out.

Incumbent Chris Hurst, D-Greenwater holds a more than 10 percentage point advantage over Republican Phil Fortunato State House Position No. 2. Both will be on the November ballot.
