Game, dance to wrap up homecoming
Enumclaw High School will wrap up homecoming festivities with a Friday afternoon parade, Friday night football game and Saturday dance on campus.
Carrying the theme, “Enchanted Amazon,” the special week is already under way. Students began a series of dress-up days Monday and continue today, Wednesday, with “sunglasses,” Thursday with “Hornet pride” and Friday with “class colors.”
Coronation of homecoming royalty is the first of several community events and begins with a royalty dinner at 6 p.m. Thursday in the EHS library. Following the dinner will be the coronation ceremony at 7 p.m. in the school commons, which includes the crowning of this year's king and queen.
The royal court includes Claire Anderson, Bridgette Gigear, Liz Long, Brooklyn McKenzie and Gabi Peterson on the girls side. Nathan Huff, Conner Larned, Joey Pierotti, Taylor Skore and Coty Thomas are the boys on the court.
Downtown Enumclaw will come alive Friday when the annual homecoming parade rolls along Cole Street beginning at 4 p.m. Included will be floats from many classes, clubs and community groups.
Later Friday at Pete's Pool, the homecoming football game will feature the Hornets against the Auburn Trojans. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Winners of the parade float competition will be announced at halftime and also highlighted will be members of the EHS class of 1982, the class of 1958, the 2007 royalty, the Enumclaw High School band and the cheer squad.
Completing the week's events will be the homecoming dance from 9 p.m. to midnight Saturday.
Prices for the dance are $18 per ticket with an ASB card and $20 without. Ticket sales at the leadership window continue today, Wednesday, during all lunches, and will also be sold today, Wednesday, and Thursday. The day of the dance, tickets will be sold for $20, with or without an ASB card.
