Police nab three for vandalism
April 30, 2009 · Updated 12:51 PM
Three suspects have been taken into custody for spray-painting graffiti on signs and vehicles March 8. The suspects sprayed a Bonney Lake Police car and a Pierce County Sheriff's Department patrol vehicle and a private vehicle in and around the city.
Detectives and officers from the Bonney Lake Police Department worked in conjunction with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department to investigate the vandalism.
Two of the suspects are juveniles and one is an adult. All reside in the Bonney Lake area and were taken into custody Thursday morning without incident. Two were booked into the county's juvenile detention facility, Remann Hall, and one was booked into the Pierce County Jail.
Damage from the vandalism was estimated to be in excess of $1,000 and the interruption of emergency services by taking police vehicles out of service constitutes a felony offense.
