Another piece of the Bonney Lake's road puzzle appears to be solved.

The city has purchased property at 18404 Sumner-Buckley Highway for about $387,000 with the intention of building a road to 182nd Avenue East, just below 84th Street.

The lower portion of 182nd Avenue East will end just above Windermere, still leaving access for that business and Bonney Lake Auto Parts.

"This will turn that property around making it much more attractive to developers," Councilman Dave King said. "We believe this is a major step in realizing our Old Town plan."

The City Council authorized Mayor Bob Young to make the deal in the Jan. 11 workshop. Young said he closed the deal Jan. 12.

"Once the engineering is done and everything is laid out we will put everything up for sale," Young said. "We bought the land for the right of way for the road."
