April 30, 2009 · Updated 2:47 PM
The city of Buckley is developing a master plan for the railroad right of way property along state Route 410 and is looking for citizen input during a community meeting this weekend.
The meeting, which is hosted by the city and students from University of Washington Masters Planning Class, will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Multi-Purpose Center, 811 Main St. Refreshments will be served at the meeting.
Various possibilities on how the railroad property could be developed will be discussed. Possible development scenarios introduced to the community will include commercial, open space (recreation), mixed use with a residential element and mixed open space with commercial. These scenarios will include financial impacts and forecasting.
Residents can call City Hall at 360-829-1921, ext. 200, for more information.
