Bonney Lake has hired an interim administrative services coordinator.

The city announced on Feb. 25 Don Morrison has been hired to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Tom Reber.

Morrison brings a human resources background to the job and city administration skills.

"The City Council has realized we need both a human resources person and an administrative services coordinator," Mayor Bob Young said.

Morrison was human resources director for Spokane Valley.

"He's worked in a lot of areas around the Northwest," Young said. "There was an error on his application which is why he wasn't interviewed before."

The job was offered to another candidate on Feb. 23, but he turned it down, electing not to relocate from Olympia.

"We're going to go back through the process again," Young said. "But in the meantime we need help now."
