The 76th annual Daffodil Festival Grand Floral Street Parade will kick off its four-town tour – which includes a key stop in Sumner – at 10:15 a.m. Saturday in downtown Tacoma.
This year’s theme is “Swing into Spring.”
The Grand Floral Street Parade is the highlight of Festival Week. The parade travels through Tacoma, Puyallup, Sumner and Orting and consists of approximately 40 float entries and more than 80 other entries, including bands, marching and mounted units.
The floats are decorated with fresh-cut daffodils numbering in the thousands.
In Sumner, the parade starts at 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Kincaid Avenue and Main Street and ends past the high school at Lewis Ave.
At 5 p.m., the final stop of the parade begins in Orting.
Representing the Daffodil Festival court is Princess Danika Wilcoxson from Bonney Lake High and Princess Shelby Parkin from Sumner High. They will join Queen Melanie Stambaugh of Emerald Ridge High.
