Bus riders will want to be prepared for schedule changes during the upcoming winter holidays.

On Christmas Day, Dec. 25, Metro Transit buses operate on a Sunday schedule. That schedule is also in effect on New Year's Day, Thursday, Jan. 1. The bus tunnel will be closed on those days, and the George Benson Waterfront Streetcar does not operate. If a route does not normally have Sunday service, it will not operate on the holiday.

There will be regular bus service on Dec. 24, 26, 31 and Jan. 2. Check timetables for some changes on those days for school and custom bus routes.

During the University of Washington winter break between Dec. 19 and Jan. 2, there will be some reduction in service on routes serving the UW campus. During that time, selected trips on routes 65, 67, 271, 372 and Sound Transit 540 will not operate. Affected trips are noted in passenger timetables and in Metro Online.

All Metro customer service offices will also be closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.

Complete information about the bus service during the holidays is in passenger timetables and on the Metro Online Web site. Or, call Metro's Rider Information Office at 206-553-3000. Sound Transit information can also be found online.
