The 15-year-old girl arrested June 13 in the stabbing of another teenager was arraigned June 17 at Remann Hall.

The Bonney Lake High freshman was charged with first-degree assault.

Her 13-year-old victim, a student at Lakeridge Middle School, was walking down a street within the 500 block of South Island Drive in Bonney Lake with a group of acquaintances when the alleged attacker approached and began stabbing her, according to Officer Daron Wolschleger of the Bonney Lake Police Department.

The victim suffered several stab wounds in the upper body area and was transported to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma and released Monday.

Wolschleger with the Bonney Lake Police Department said the motive behind the attack appears to be over a third party.

“It sounds like they were acquaintances, they knew each other and there was some sort of conflict or dispute that involved a boy,” Wolschleger said.
