A suspect who drove his vehicle toward a Bonney Lake police officer is on the loose after fleeing the scene on foot.
On July 9, a patrol officer attempted to make a traffic stop because it appeared the driver might be under the influence. As the officer neared the vehicle in the 23400 block of South Prairie Road, the vehicle sped off.
The officer followed toward the town of South Prairie and the suspect drove his vehicle onto a dead-end-street. When the officer approached, the suspect sped toward the officer and the officer opened fire.
The suspect fled the area and his vehicle was located a few miles away, crashed into a tree. A search using air units, K-9 units and a foot pursuit yielded no result.
The suspect is described as a white male between 40 and 50 years of age.
If anyone has any information regarding this incident, the police department requests they call 253-863-2218.
