Two Algona men killed in single-car accident near Lake Tapps

Two men were killed early Saturday morning in a single-vehicle accident on 214th Avenue East north of Snag Island on Lake Tapps.
The victims were identified as Zachery Oliver, 21, and Chase Tinsley, 18, both of Algona, Wash., according to the Piece County Coroner's Office.
East Pierce Fire and Rescue crews responded to accident and found the car off the road in a shallow pond near the lake.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, but witnesses reported that the driver lost control at the corner and hit at tree before landing in the water.
Both occupants died at the scene.
Earlier in the day, East Pierce firefighters responded a jeep rollover at Evans Creek.
One patient was transported to the trauma center at a local hospital with significant injuries.
