Dan Roach announces bid for Pierce County Council Position 1

State Representative Dan Roach of the 31st legislative district announced today that his candidacy for Pierce County Council Position 1 in fall's election.
Dan Roach lives in Bonney Lake and along with his wife Melanie, owns Roach Gymnastics Inc., in Sumner. He is also completing his fifth term as state representative for the 31st legislative district, representing parts of Pierce and King County.
"I am excited to focus more on local job creation and moving local projects forward. I will continue to work for lower taxes, and a smaller, more accountable government."
Roach decided not to seek another term as state representative.
"It has been an honor to represent the citizens of the 31st district on a state level," Roach said.
Roach said he is most proud of keeping his promise of not voting for tax increases.
He is not saying anything one way or another regarding a successor.
"I will not be making a primary endorsement. There are some good candidates out there and I urge the voters to find out who they are and make an informed decision," he said.
