The City of Sumner published a notice on its home page acknowledging high water levels on its bordering rivers, and reassuring citizens that no flooding is expected.

"Although the rivers are a bit high, no flooding is expected in Sumner," the notice read. "The Puyallup River is forecasted to crest just over 19 feet, and flooding doesn't occur until around 26 feet."

The most recent level recorded by the Northwest River Forecast Center was just over 13 feet.
