The Panthers' girls golf team tore up Oakbrook Golf and Country Club's course yesterday, winning out over an unfortunately hindered Lakes High School 116-55.

Lakes came into the match with five players to Bonney Lake's six. But the team was also hobbled by higher stroke counts per golfer: a little more than 63, compared to Bonney Lake's average of just over 53.

Junior Desirae Hazelwood was the golfer to beat and the medalist of the match, with the low stroke count of 44 -- eight over the 36 course par -- and was awarded 28 points to Bonney Lake's total.

The Panthers play Sumner High School in a non-league rivalry game today at 2:45 p.m.
