SHS SWIM: Spartans triumph over Clover Park and Eatonville

The Sumner Spartan swimmers triumphed over all comers last week, beating Clover Park 134-26 and Eatonville 112-67.

Madison Munger and Sami Hendricks qualified for state competition in the 100-yard freestyle, as well as swimming legs on the 200 medley relay. Alicia Ditty and Ashley Huynh made up the other half of the relay.

Hendricks made the state cut in the 50 freestyle.

At home against Eatonville, the combined 400 freestyle relay team of Lizzie Kressler, Alejandro Castro, McKenna Roberts and Kallan Gustafson edged out the opposing team by two seconds.

The team swam home meets against Steilacoom and Bonney Lake Tuesday. The Spartans travel to Lakes Thursday to swim against the host Lancers and Decatur High.
