Bonney Lake football tops Enumclaw 28-10
The Bonney Lake Panthers kept the momentum from their homecoming victory going this weekend with a 28-10 win over the Enumclaw Hornets.
Bonney Lake started a bit slow, allowing an Enumclaw field goal in the first quarter to make it 3-0 headed to the second, but the Panther air attack came to life before halftime.
Quarterback Chris Brown hooked up with receiver Robert Combs on a pair of pass plays, from 10 and 432 yards out, both capped by kicks from Tyler John, to give the Panthers a 14-3 lead going into halftime.
And Bonney Lake never looked back.
Enumclaw struck first int he second half on a three yard run by Cameron Strecker, but that was the last time they would see the endzone as the Panther defense held the line for the rest of the game.
In the second half, Bonney Lake's ground game came alive with E.J. Harris getting a touchdown in both the third and fourth quarters. Harris powered in a one-yard run in the third and then broke off a 36-yard touchdown in the fourth to seal the victory. John kicked the extra point for each.
The win lifts Bonney Lake to an overall record of 3-4 with a 2-1 record in the South Puget Sound League 3A.
The Panthers play at Lakes on Friday.
