Sumner's girls soccer team ended the regular season with a final—if uncharacteristically modest—win over Fife.
The 2-0 victory sealed the Spartans' No. 1 seed heading into Districts. The team ended the conference season undefeated, with more wins and accumulated points than any other member team of South Puget Sound League 2A.
The Spartans' two goals were shot by Kaitie Huff—assisted by Kelsie Colman—and Brooke Lancaster, unassisted.
Goalie Jamie Lange shut out all attempted Fife goals.
The Spartans ranking sends them to Franklin Pierce Stadium Nov. 3 and pits them against the Seamount League's No. 3 team.
Seamount teams Lindbergh and Highline faced off Thursday night in their last regular season match. They are a close third and fourth in their conference, and the as-yet-unreleased results of the match may determine who takes on the Spartans next.
