Sumner's girls basketball team defeated the Washington Patriots 48-30 Tuesday night.
The Spartans apparently decided to make a victory sandwich, beginning and ending the game with lackluster quarters and playing two fierce quarters in the middle. Quarterly scores were 10-11, 13-7, 15-2 and 10-10, respectively.
Jamie Lange was the high-scoring player of the night with 14 points. She was followed by Nicole Miller at 10.
The girls remain second-ranked in South Puget Sound League 2A; first-ranked White River added another win to its undefeated season after playing Orting Tuesday night. The Spartans face off against White River Friday.Contact Bonney Lake-Sumner Courier-Herald Reporter Daniel Nash at firstname.lastname@example.org or 360-825-2555 ext. 5060.
