BLHS CROSS COUNTRY: Stinnett leads girls past White River, Lakes

Bonney Lake High’s Veronica Stinnett continued her domination in South Puget Sound League 3A cross county, finishing first in the three-team meet Sept. 30 at White River.

The Panther girls defeated White River 25-34 and Lakes 21-39 on the 5K course.

Stinnett finished with a time of 19 minutes, 34 seconds and teammate Maria Wilson was third at 20:47. Sierra Espinal, Karlie Pyl, Chloe Beal and Emily Campbell finished eighth, ninth, 10th and 11th, respectively.

In the boys’ race, Bonney Lake defeated Lakes 26-30 and lost to White River 25-31.

Brandon Baumchen was fourth overall with a time of 17:13 and Reed Hawkins took sixth at 17:46. William Edwards was close behind in seventh place at 17:52.

Bonney Lake travels to Clover Park today, Wednesday, and hosts Sumner Oct. 14.
