BLHS GIRLS SOCCER: Panthers score 17 in pair of wins

The Bonney Lake High girls improved to 3-0 in South Puget League 3A soccer play with two wins last week.

Against Clover Park Thursday in Lakewood, the Panthers hammered the Warriors 11-1.

Jenny Dewitz kicked off the scoring with a goal off a Hillary Colbert assist in the 21st minute of play.

Savanna Moorehouse scored the first of her two goals a minute later, then Carly Mingo, who also scored twice, landed a goal in the 28th minute. Moorehourse scored again in the 30th minute on a penalty kick.

Before the half, Colvert scored on a Karissa Burnett assist for a 5-0 lead.

Kassandra Blakely, Alicia Bowman, Haylie Cannon, Brianna Jones and Beverly Kobe scored in the second half.

Dewitz, Colbert and Cannon finished with two assists each.

Moorehouse scored three goals and goalkeeper Rendi Johnson recorded the shutout in the Panthers 6-0 win over Franklin Pierce Oct. 6 at home.

All of the Panthers’ goals came in the second half. Colbert scored off a Jones assist in the 42nd minute of play, then Moorehouse scored her first goal three minutes later on a Colbert assist.

Jones scored an unassisted goal in the 51st minute, then Bowman made it 4-0 in the 58th minute thanks to a Moorehouse assist.

Moorehouse scored her final two goals in the final five minutes of play. Cannon and Dewitz recorded the assist.

Bonney Lake plays at Peninsula Thursday, then travels to White River Tuesday.
