BLHS BOYS TENNIS: Panthers close season with win

Bonney Lake High closed out its regular season with a 4-1, home-court win over district rival Sumner in South Puget Sound League boys tennis action Oct. 12.

Taylor Pringle defeated Scott Brown 6-1, 6-1 in No. 1 singles, while Sam Davidson overcame Jeff Bidniy 6-3, 7-5 in No. 2 action.

In doubles, the No. 1 pair of Steve Scott and Ben Davidson downed Grant Fulton and Jacob Heuett 6-3, 7-5, while teammates Adrian Gonzalez and Andrew Allen had to go three games against Sumner’s Christan Hines and Delbert Oxburrow for a 6-4, 5-7, 7-5 win in No. 3 action.

Sumner’s lone win was in No. 2 doubles as Will Mortell and Hunter Bleha won in three games, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2, over Zach Volin and Devon Crump.

The SPSL 3A tournament was Monday at Clover Park. No results were available at press time.
