Bonney Lake High’s Elise Duncan and Kelsi Potterf will advance to the West Central District III swim and dive championships Nov. 6 and 7 at Hazen High School in Renton.
Duncan will compete in the 50-yard freestyle, while Potterf will try to earn her spot at the state meet in diving.
Friday and Saturday, the Panthers took their final shot at qualifying for the district tournament at the South Puget Sound League 3A meet in Enumclaw. Only those with district-qualifying times advanced to the WCD championships.
Duncan placed fifth in the 50 freestyle and 11th in the 100 freestyle. Her 50 freestyle time earned her a lane at the district meet.
Juli Herbst finished ninth in the 200 individual medley, just shy of making the district meet.
The medley relay of Duncan, Ali Ehle, Herbst and Tosha Vance finished well, seventh, but not quick enough to advance.
