BLHS BOYS TENNIS: Panthers’ doubles advance to districts

The Bonney Lake High Panthers doubles team of Ben Davidson and Steven Scott advanced to the spring West Central District III boys tennis tournament.

The duo finished fifth in the South Puget Sound League/Western Cascade Conference subdistrict tournament Oct. 22 at Clover Park.

They fell 6-2, 6-1 to Colton Heath and Max Jacobsen of Franklin Pierce, who finished third.

Grant Fulton and Josh Heuett of Sumner are the No. 2 alternate in doubles. Fulton and Heuett lost to North Thurston’s duo, 6-0, 6-1.

Bonney Lake was seventh with 20 points and Sumner took 11th place with six points.

Capital won the subdistrict title with 59 points.

The 2009 SPSL all-league boys tennis team, voted on by league coaches, was announced recently. Davidson, Scott and Fulton received honorable mention.
