STATE BASKETBALL UPDATE: Capital 49, Bonney Lake 47

Capital High erased a Bonney Lake third-quarter lead by outscoring the Panthers 21-8 in the fourth period for a 49-47 win at the Class 3A state girls basketball tournament at the Tacoma Dome.

Thursday morning's loss, coupled with Wednesday's opening-round loss to Seattle Prep, brings the Panthers' season to a close.

During the Panthers' clash with Capital, Marcel Pounds was the lone scorer in double figures with 17 points.
